Is South Korea going to legalise the non-medical tattooist?

I am sure that many people don’t know this, but in South Korea, tattooists are mostly illegal; currently, tattoos are under the medical law. This means that technically tattooists are technically legal, but only can be made by a doctor. Therefore, if you wanna open a tattoo business in Korea, you need to be a doctor first, and obviously, most tattooist do not meet this requisite.

Therefore, tattooists are in a grey area; in theory, most are not legal. However, the government could change that, these days, it’s being debated to change this law and give recognition to these professionals.

Even though I am not attracted to tattoos, I never liked them, but I think that it is good that they get legal recognition. In my opinion, this is good for tattooists and also customers, because if the business is legal, they will have a more sanitary warranty.
