Recently, everyone has been discussing AI and its potential impact on future job positions and the job market. But a topic that I never thought about is religion, even though that might sound absurd. If AI become smarter and smarter, maybe this will affect how religion is expanded, and also could prove, for exanple, that all religions that we know about are wrong.
I think that this could be good and bad. Religions could take advantage of AI and try to spread more, specifically in poor countries with a low education rate. On the other side, maybe more people can find more answers in AI and don’t need to believe in these fairytales. However, we should be cautious with this topic, we have seen on SNS that algorithms could affect how people think, giving them the answers and content that wanna hear, and make them get more extremist.
I noted an article below talking about this topic, and how some countries have tried an AI pastor. This is concerning as with this technology, all priest can become very smart and it will be very hard to deny their argument. But maybe if we become that smart, we can force them to say that they don’t believe in God. Who knows what the future will be in this field, but it could become interesting.
