Commuting through ship in Seoul

Have you ever imagined going to work every morning by ship? Honestly, I never imagined that as a realistic scenario as a ship is a slow transportation means, often used for covering long distances and connecting islands. However the Seoul today mayor has a different idea.

For me, this is a bad idea, only useful for tourists who want an alternative view of the Seoul skyline. However, if you have to work every day, you want to reduce the time needed to arrive at your workplace. Therefore, due to the ship’s low speed, it cannot go as fast as a subway. Also these ships are much more polluting than subway or even bus, being many of them electric.

Also, we have the problem of the weather. Seoul’s weather is not easy, with typhoons and heavy rains, snow in winter and scorching summer. This means that many times the service will be cancelled due to a weather advisory, actually, this happened on the inauguration day.

However, on the inauguration day, the tickets were sold out in a matter of minutes. And I can see why, this is a great way of enjoying the city on a Sunday or during a day off. Also to show the city and take some stunning pictures. Seoul is really a beautiful city, especially at night and during sunset. However, this is not a good idea for commuting every day, but at the same time cannot wait to ride it and enjoy the trip. But seems that will have to wait a bit until it is not that crowded.

  1. Can’t agree more ㅋㅋ
I think this cannot be public trasportation. It’s just cheap alternative of Han river cruise service 😅😉 Withtout restaurant but you still can see the nice view of Seoul from Han river. It would be good for budget oriented tourists 🤣
