Today has been the first day in Seoul to reach a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, which is quite a high temperature for May.
Even though 30 degrees is not extremely warm, it is very early to reach this temperature, so this year may be a very hot summer. Aside from climate change, big cities like Seoul are affected by the “heat island” effect, which is caused because of the asphalt and building that are built there. That don’t allow temperature to go down at night, so normally is hard to sleep in summer. This year will have to use air conditioner or fan at night to try to overcome this situation.
