If you don’t live in South Korea probably your are not aware that here the quality of Google Maps is much lower than other Western countries. This is because there are strict regulations regarding mapping, and it is not allowed that foreign companies can get access to high resolution mapping data as technically, South Korea is still in war with the North.

In fact, here, most people use Korean apps for their navigation needs, like Naver Maps or Kakao maps, which are local companies. However, if you are not native in Korean, it could be difficult to search for addresses or business as their search in foreign languages is not that good even if you spell it correctly.
This could change soon as Korean government is discussing the possibility of allowing google to access to that data, which should greatly improve the quality of Google Maps. It is expected that the government will make a decision before August 11, so we will have to wait a bit more to find out.
